"Nobody ever thinks there will come a time when they have to arrange a funeral for a child but that happened to us when we lost our daughter suddenly. We knew Charley would be the right person to honour and show love to our beautiful girl and us as a family. The service carried out by Charley, was perfect. Everyone I spoke to afterwards said it really gave them a sense of love, warmth and connection to our daughter and her personality. Charley took her time to really get to know about our daughter's life, how kind, loving and fun she was. It was because of this that, although it's never something you want to go through as a parent, when we said goodbye to her, guided by Charley, it was honestly one of the most beautiful moments of my life. My daughter felt truly loved and honoured by Charley. I will forever be grateful for that." Planning a funeral is a difficult moment in many people’s lives. It comes with lots of questions and choices to make on behalf of a loved one. You may have a really clear vision of what you want their funeral to look like or you may have little guidance or experience, it's never easy. My name is Charley and I hold humanistic funerals. A humanist funeral recognises the profound sadness of saying goodbye, whilst celebrating the life and legacy of a loved one through storytelling and showing great love and empathy for everyone bereaved, but also, for the person who has died. A humanist funeral focuses on the person who has died, the life they led, and the relationships they forged. It is based on the humanist perspective that every life is individual and valuable. It offers a meaningful way to honour the life of a loved one. I am able to create a beautiful ceremony based on the beliefs of the individual and their family to support them, holding the family and beginning the grieving process with love, compassion and understanding. Let your funeral directors know that you'd like me to hold the funeral and I will liase directly with them. You can either book me here yourself, or I can organise this with them. My fee includes meeting with you before the funeral to take a life story.
